Present day

Those that live in Croxley Green or Rickmansworth would surely agree, that the area has an interesting mix of both small town and village community, taking the best from both.

For those that commute to London, the Metropolitan line serves both Croxley and Rickmansworth well, with the proposed new rail link from Croxley Station, linking up with Watford Junction and improving this rail link further and from Rickmansworth, the Met. And BR Lines already provides a 25 min. fast track service to Marylebone and Baker Street. The largest shopping centre in Hertfordshire, Intu, is located close by in Watford town centre, whilst Rickmansworth boasts M & S and Waitrose stores.

Accessed at local Junctions, the M25 and M1 links the area to the national motorway network, giving access to Heathrow and Luton airports.

There are enviable local schools in the catchment area to include: Rickmansworth School, Harvey Road School, Little Green School, York Mead, Malvern Way, Clement Danes, Merchant Taylors and Royal Masonic.

It’s an area that facilitates lovely walks and there is beauty never far away, from Croxley Common Moor and the adjacent Grand Union Canal, past ‘The Green’ itself and along the Colne and Chess Valleys.

Community events are held regularly in both Croxley Green and Rickmansworth. In Croxley many are held around the Green, for example: -Revels on the Green, New Year’s Eve fireworks, Dog shows, Cars on green, Fun Fairs and Croxfest to name a few. In Rickmansworth, events usually gravitate towards the beautiful Aquadrome and water ways or at Christmas in the pretty town centre.

There area sports a wealth of pubs and restaurants, many of great character with The Artichoke, Scottsbridge Mill and The Red House serving in Croxley and The Feathers and the Coach and Horses in Rickmansworth.

The area is renowned for its sporting clubs with something for every interest; the golfer at West Herts., Moor Park and Batch worth Hill, Tennis and Bowls players at various venues and Chess Valley Rugby, whilst fisherman have a choice of waterways in the Three Rivers Valley. We even have premiership football representation at Vicarage Road!
